A horizontal laminar air flow (HLAF) cabinet is a sterile workbench that uses a HEPA-filtered air stream moving horizontally from the back toward the operator. It creates an ISO Class 5 (Class 100) environment to protect samples and products from contamination during non-hazardous tasks like tissue culture, electronics assembly, or electronics inspections.
